We're redesigning the Profile page - what do you want from it?
Yesterday I asked for feedback on our ideas for a revamped Profile Page for Demotix users.
We realise that the current profile page isn't really up to scratch or professional looking - so we want to create a profile page for you that can really be the home for your photography on the web.
There are a number of common aims that have influenced what we've included in all the new designs:
- Basic profile information - your name, a short bio if you want to write one, your photo
- What you get up to on the Demotix site - your groups, interests, relationships with other users, etc
- Showing the stories you've previously uploaded
- Showing the images that you think are your best work in a view of their own
- (Under consideration) A map showing where you've uploaded stories, based on either the locations you enter for your stories, or the geotagging information where it's available from your images
- Ability to view your images as a slideshow
What we want your feedback on is: are those the things we should be aiming for? Do the new designs achieve them? Is there anything we've left out that you would find useful or indispensable? Tell us in the forum thread and we could incorporate your ideas into our designs!
You can see all of the images we've uploaded of the new designs here:
I'd vote for Option three -
I'd vote for Option three - Image two. I'd love to see the map feature and the slideshow would be nice.
I'd vote for Option One -
I'd vote for Option One - Image One. I'd love to see the map feature as I travel quite a bit, and the slideshow would be nice.

Hi Tom,
I always believe let the pictures do the talking.
Having said that I do prefer concept 1, because there is the right balance between the size of the photo's and the right number of photo's to help tell the story on one page. I much prefer photo's on a white background as it offers relief, makes the images pop out more. The grey background tends to swallow the picture, it doesn't pop as much or at all.
Also I would recommend increasing the size of the text for the photographers name only, to help offset against the larger photo size as it tends to overwhelm the name a bit too much.
Hope this helps.

i think the size of image display should be made large,so that the viewer can fully understand the picture.
