Demotix supports the Artists' Bill of Rights

You already know that Demotix is passionate about protecting photographers' rights, so it's fantastic to be able to announce today that Demotix has become an official supporter of the Artists' Bill of Rights.

The Artists' Bill of Rights was founded in March 2008 as a response to organizations willfully assuming usage rights of submitted works - and even in some cases claiming copyrights and waiving of moral rights. The Bill sets out minimum criteria for photographic contests and user-generated projects like Demotix to highlight groups who are protecting photographers' rights. The Bill of Rights is run by Pro-Imaging, and you can learn more or show your support on their site.

Demotix has always been open about our terms and conditions. Photographers retain all their rights, can withdraw their images at any time, and receive 50% of all income from their images. We publish our full Terms of Business, Terms of Use and Licenses on this website for consultation at any time. We are delighted when we hear of others who share our feelings on this subject, and fully support the Bill of Rights' attempt to root out bad practice.
