Ossie's Sales Update

It’s been the usual rollercoaster ride for the Sales team at Demotix with so many fantastic stories coming we’ve had to keep on our toes to ensure we get as much content out as possible to media buying professionals around the World.

This week alone has seen imagery from Demotix contributors featured in publications in countries such as UK, US, Greece, Canada, Belgium and Lebanon to name but a few. An important placement for us this week was the use of a superb image from Copenhagen by the Metro newspaper here in the UK, which helped to bring Demotix to the attention of commuters up and down the country.

Demotix coverage of the continuing protests in Greece has provided an interesting talking point this week with our photographs provoking considerable debate in the Greek media. In this instance, the vigilance of our contributors has been of exceptional assistance in helping us to track down illegal usage and reaffirm our determination to ensure we protect the copyright of your hard work. This has already resulted in two sales of the image and led to us building direct relationships too with clients that hadn't heard about Demotix.

This week we are also pleased to announce that we have signed an agreement with ScanPix, the Danish based photography agency which will now give Demotix images further scope for exposure in the Scandinavian market. With our recent distribution partnerships in Benelux and Italy we are opening up Demotix to a wider audience and ensuring that the work of our contributors can benefit from the local expertise of these reputable agencies.

Our biggest selling single image of the year, of Professor Henry Louis Gates being arrested outside his home will feature prominently in the review of the year in a number of journals and magazines in the U.S as will a lot of our ground breaking coverage in Iran. All of which proves that being in the right place at the right time and snapping a story that captures the imagination is all that’s needed to make the print media sit up and take notice.
