Humanitarian journalism grant opportunity
We've just found out about the existence of a new grant that's been set up to help journalists with exciting projects along their way.
Each grant is just $500 (US) but it might be the final push you need to reach your funding target - or the incentive you need to find the rest of your funding!
This comes courtesy of the good people at Development and Aid World News Service (DAWNS) Digest, who sell email subscriptions to a news clippings service for people interested in humanitarian issues, human rights, conflict, development and related global news. They've decided to use their subscription revenue to support these humanitarian journalism grants.
They want to know about the project you'd use the grant money for; what's the story you want to tell? What are the humanitarian goals you want to reach? You'll have to be prepared to have the details of your project posted publicly on their website.
Applications are open until January the 25th, after which the Dawns Digest community will be voting on their favourites from the nominees. The founders will then make the final selection.
What the founders are really looking for is "high quality storytelling about people, places or things that are not typically well represented". If you think that's something you can achieve with your photojournalism, then go for it!
You can find everything you need to know to apply and the link to the application form at the page explaining the grants.
