Today we're proud to announce the launch of our new Android app!

The new Demotix Android app will let you:

- Add stories, upload and edit them in a clean and easy to use interface.
- Upload a maximum of 25 images and videos per story, just like the full website.
- Create a story and upload it directly from other applications that support sharing.
- With a high-end camera, you can now upload directly from the field. This allows us to publish and sell your media faster!
- Works across a wide range of devices, from medium sized phones to high resolution 10'' tablets.
- Supports devices that have Android 2.2 and up.

You can help us by:

1. Downloading the new app from the Google Play Store or from the Amazon Appstore.
2. Adding your review.
3. Encouraging other citizen journalists you know to do the same.
4. Reporting any bugs you encounter to us.

Make sure to share your feedback.

Thanks!

The Demotix Team

Seems like this notice could have been sent via our respective news desks/from our editors...I was among those asking for it when the iPhone App was announced (via email).

Anyway, thanks for the App!

The following tips are based on commonly accepted editorial values adopted by most mainstream media.

Visual journalists operate as trustees of the public. Our primary role is to report visually on the significant events and varied viewpoints in our common world. Our primary goal is the faithful and comprehensive depiction of the subject at hand. As visual journalists, we have the responsibility to document society and to preserve its history through images.

On our Editorial ethics for photojournalists page we have put together a list commonly accepted editorial values adopted by most mainstream media.
