Turi was a panelist at Seedcamp 09, talking about the first 100 days of a company, alongside Brent Hoberman (Lastminute.com, Mydeco and PROfounders Capital), Errol Damelin (Wonga), Ian Hogarth (Songkick) and Lukasz Gadowski (Spreadshirt). The Guardian covered the event, and Techcrunch blogged about it here Seedcamp is the great European incubator. Demotix is a big fan, and lots of great European start-ups owe Seedcamp some of their success. This is this morning's panel: (with thanks to BigMick)

Visa Pour L'Image is the biggest photojournalism festival if not in the world, then certainly in Europe. Perpignan is a medieval town, once the powerful capital of the Kingdom of Majorca...

George Haddad shared his knowledge of photojournalism to a group of amateur photographers and absolute beginners at the event, organized by the fantastic Social Media Exchange. It's great to see Demotix contributors sharing their skills and knowledge with the wider community. We thought we'd post George's presentation on this blog (thanks to SMEX for sharing...

A Demotix photographer wrote to tell us that he has been awarded third prize in the prestigious PX3 Prix de la Photographie. Chen Qiang's work China Wenchuan earthquake survivors was selected by the jury in the non-professional photojournalism category. His work will be published in the annual PX3 book, and exhibited in a Paris gallery. The awards honour novel efforts that seize and create opportunities to involve citizens in public issues and supply entry points that invite their participation or spark their imagination. As the only organization based outside North America among the winners, this is thrilling exposure for us in a crucial market. Its yet another cause for celebration for the...
