Remember, we ask you to limit stories to 25 images because we’d like to encourage you to upload only the very best photos you’ve taken of your event.

Please note that if you submit too many images which are not of an acceptable standard, our publishers will be less likely to publish your sets in future. Being able to perform a tight self-edit is an essential part of being a good photojournalist.
We have a system in place which prevents two people from trying to edit the same story at the same time, which can cause problems with our systems.
Your story will be “locked” as soon as someone begins editing it. The lock lasts for 45 minutes, or until you or the publisher clicks the “Save” button at the bottom of the page. If you’ve accidentally navigated away from editing a story, you may receive a prompt on the website to “release the lock” so that if necessary someone else will be able to edit the story.
The longest you’ll ever have to wait while a story is being edited is 45 minutes. We hope that makes things clearer.
Our publishers check all stories as they come in to make sure that they’re accurate and of good quality. If you didn't include much information about the story, or the information was hard to understand, it will take our publishers longer to publish your story. During major events that receive a lot of submissions, your story may take longer to publish.
When you've published enough stories and have established that you can consistently meet our expectations for quality and style, you will be eligible for Self Publisher status, which means your work go live as soon as you’ve finished with it.

Please ensure that you set up your payment details using either PayPal or Moneybookers and please make sure you have paid the correct tax ID.
Also, bear in mind that media outlets can be notoriously slow with payment, so it may still be 30 – 60 days before payment comes through. If the sale was made through one of our resellers like Corbis or Scanpix, the payment can take even longer.
We follow up with our media partners daily, so rest assured that payment is on the way. Well done, again!
We’ll be getting in touch with the infringer and asking them to take down the image. We should at least be able to get the image taken down and, depending on the type of use, we may also be able to make them pay a penalty fee for the illegal use.

We normally make monthly payment runs around the 20th of each month, but the exact date can vary by several days. It is possible the payment run hasn't been made yet for this month, so please be patient.
It is also possible that you have not properly filled out your payment information. Please confirm that you have filled out (1) payment method, information and minimum payment amount on the settings of your sales dashboard. Also confirm that you have filled out (2) the tax information and all other required fields on your account information, accessible through "edit profile" on your dashboard.
If you believe that there are still outstanding payments that are not being transferred from your incoming payments, please contact us and we will see if we can solve the problem.

Please note that there is a requirement to have published a certain number of stories before you can apply for accreditation.

Sorry to hear about that. We usually process accreditation requests on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so it might just be that our editors haven’t got around to your request yet. We receive a large number of accreditation requests, so we cannot always followup if the request wasn't properly filled out. If you do not hear back within two or three working days, then I'm afraid your application was unsuccessful.

If you correctly completed your press pass accreditation, then we don’t usually write to you to confirm (although you have the receipt from Paypal). We process accreditation requests twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The press cards then take around one month to arrive, based on the time it takes to process, print, ship and deliver the cards from our printers in Canada.
Please be patient - unfortunately, making the process any faster would make passes more expensive!"Thank you.
Unfortunately not all requests will be accepted. Some applications are incomplete, or were requested so late that they couldn't be processed in time for the event. Other events require specific instructions that Demotix cannot always fulfill.
Remember that we are a newswire service, not an independent publication, and that contributors are still technically freelance photographers. Because you maintain the copyright to your images, we cannot fulfill terms that stipulate images will only be used for certain publications.
