How to Use the Uploader
LOG IN
You need to log in to the Demotix Uploader. You should use your username that you use for Demotix.com. For security, you cannot use your password for Demotix.com because your details will not be transferred securely. Instead you should use your personal Upload Code, which can be set or changed here. Click log in. If an error message appears, please check your details.
ADD YOUR PHOTOS
The Uploader is extremely simple to use. Just drag and drop Jpeg images from your computer into the white box, or click Browse to choose files directly.
You can remove images from the queue by clicking the red cross icon, and you can rotate an image clockwise or anti-clockwise using the arrows.
When you're ready to upload, click the Start Upload button.
START UPLOADING
Your images are now uploading! The blue progress bar gives you your overall progress and other indicators give you more details. Each image will receive a green 'tick' when they are successfully uploaded.
If you need to cancel your upload you can, by clicking Cancel Upload. Some images may have already been uploaded to your Existing Images.
ADD TO A STORY
When all your images are uploaded, you will be taken to a confirmation screen. It will tell you how many stories were successfully uploaded, and the filenames of any images that had problems.
In a few minutes, these images will be in your Existing Images. You can jump straight into adding them to a story by clicking Add to Story, or you can upload some more images by clicking Go Back.

Where do my stories go?
Once your upload is complete and you see the 'Congratulations' screen, your images are safely in the Demotix system. We now need to process them and transfer them to your Existing Images - this will take upto five minutes.
Existing Images is your personal image folder. You can manage your Existing Images via your Account Settings. To add the images to a story ready for publication, click the Existing Images button on the Upload Story page.
If you are uploading a large number of files, we may need to process your images in batches - each batch will come through at five minute intervals.
The progress indicator is stuck at 0%
Are you using Windows XP? If so, there may be a conflict with your anti-virus software. Please temporarily disable your anti-virus, anti-spyware or firewall software and restart the Uploader.
I can't install the Uploader
Have you first installed Adobe Air? Check you have the latest version here.
To use the Demotix Uploader, you must be running Windows 7, Vista or XP, Mac OS X, or Linux Fedora 8 and later, Ubuntu 7.10 and later, or OpenSuse 10.3 and later.
I can't open the application on Mac OS X
Unfortunately Adobe Air Framework only runs under certain conditions on Mac. While its installation, Adobe Air disables all the non-English languages from your system. If you happen to add some other languages, please check your settings going to System Preferences > International > Languages and make sure the only language of your list is English. We hope Adobe will fix that very soon, as it is a common issue to all the Air applications.
