I have been looking for something like this for ages, it is still in alpha, but you can apply for a preview, I have now got access and it is fantastic for finding upcoming events, I hope Demotix has the opportunity to integrate with this website.

It's free, it has now moved to public beta, it aggregates news/events from the web, there are a team of editors that work for Zapaday, you can also create calendars and also add events to your own or other calendars, you can then subscribe to updates/changes to events, I think this site can go a long way and I hope Demotix will be interested in using it some how, for me personally I have been looking for something exactly like this for ages, my biggest problem is finding stories to cover, this fits the bill
