Link below to the guide from the British Security Industry Association to their members on dealing with photographers.
It is very good and should stop most of the stupid problems we get with "Security" assuming the photographer is also behaving sensibly. I recopmmend you have a copy of this in your pocket when in the UK

Also the Met advice to Police on photographers.

Though do bear in mind some of this may be amended, superseded in lines with Anti-Terrorism laws during the Olympics.

Thanks Chris.

Now the post above from goose jacket demonstrates why new people should be restricted to posting only in a newbies section of the forum until they have a FULL profile, posted 10 stories AND are permitted to self publish.
The main forum should be restricted only to Demotix reporters who have proved themselves and not be visible is it currently is. That should reduce the amount of spam and stupid users we get.
Also we need, as in most other forums, to be able to flag spam messages. This would mean that Alex and Tom only have to look at flagged spam messages not as now check the spam bin for the very many legitimate messages it takes out now.

Well said Chris. As far as I'm concerned the Forum is for people to share experiences, learn from each other and to do our best to improve the Demotix community and services. Nothing annoys me more than spending a deal of time thinking how to answer an issue only to get it lost in the spam folder because of some irresponsible contributors. best Lawrence PS I had a brush with the security guards when reporting the No Pants Subway Ride in Madrid!¡!¡

I agree with you lawrence. However to stop the vast amount of spam and spam posts from people with zero on their profile let the newbies only post to a newbie section (the rest of us can dive in and help them).
When they have done their apprenticeship they can post to the rest of the forum
Otherwise we will get stuck with this appalling spam filter that takes out 90% our posts.
