Hello,
Reading through the discussion boards there seems to be repeating questions from photographers to staffers at Demotix (including the "max 25 images" which I unwittingly started earlier) as well as the poor staff having to repeat advice many times to many different people.
Would it be possible for Demotix to arrange a get together, for want of a better phrase, for photographers who want or can attend in London so that we can be shown good and bad examples of photojournalism, the best way to caption/tag, time scales for uploading we should aim for and so on? Im not suggesting spending thousands on hiring out some luxury hotel, but just some tea/coffee and those plastic biscuits you get at "business" meetings in a room at Demotix headquarters.
I think I saw a suggestion of this previously on a forum thread somewhere but for the life of me I can't find it. The vast majority of photographers here I feel are willing and enthusiastic amateurs (just like myself when it comes to photojournalism) but just an hour with a pro could help so much.
This is only a loose suggestion so if possible the specifics can be sorted at a later date but Im curious as to your thoughts on the matter.
Regards,
James
