Pictures purchased by Scanpix DK... Who are they?

I just found that Scanpix DK has purchased a couple of my images. I went to their site to have a nosey & (it's in Dutch so couldn't read anything) it looks like its a stock photography sale site. This seemed a bit fishy to me so I was hoping someone could give me the lowdown on the site & why they'd be licensing my images (as internet only option).

Also, in case I'm just completely blind, where is the forum search button? I have tried using the forum a few times to find info & to be honest I just give up more often than finding what I want.

Cheers,
M

When you see your images on another website, it's always a good idea to check the Sales FAQ.

As you'll see if you follow the links, Scanpix are one of our oldest and most successful resellers. Nothing "fishy" at all!

Thanks for that Tom.

Just to follow up on my comment re: search function... I'd like to suggest you guys invest a bit of time improving the "Community" side of the website (especially the forum). It's not entirely the most user friendly part of the site which, I think, probably contributes a lot to the amount of work you & other Demotix forum responders have to do.

Point taken, Matt - that's actually next on our list of sections that need a redesign (we've got a whole bunch of stuff in the pipeline!).

If I could put my two cents worth in about the Community area, I would really like to see a forum/community section that is only visible to members that are logged in, some of the posts and discussion I have seen should not be visible to the public in general (including the disastrous post from a Demotix staffer regarding the Press Cards some time ago), it puts Demotix to shame.

Hi Peter, I must admit I'm not up to date on the forum, but which "disastrous post from a Demotix staffer regarding the Press Cards" are you referring to??? Thanks Lawrence

Perhaps he means the old post by a member that keeps popping if you Google it: "...walking up to the authorities with swagger, then shove the press pass in their face along with "that's right, I have access to this event" grin on your face' "
This was much criticized, and with reason, made each and every Demotix photographer look like an amateur that wanted a fake card to gain access that would otherwise been impossible. True, the text was corrected, but, still something like that should have never reached the public.
I agree with Peter in that the Forums should be closed, meaning only logged-in members should be able to see them.
