From the Demotix FAQ:

"If you want to renew your press pass and none of your details have changed (for example, you haven't moved to a different city, and your appearance hasn't changed substantially) then you can contact presspass{at}demotix.com asking for a renewal.
You'll need to be able to send another $20 payment by PayPal, including the original reference number from your press pass application."

I sent an email to presspass@demotix.com with the original reference number on January 2, 2012.....until today I haven't heard anything.

Is Demotix a news agency or what?
I am very disappointed for this!

Well you have no ID picture on your profile or as an avatar. So How do Demotix know who you are? I thought with the new/proposed anonymity policy from Demotix they were going to use your profile/avatar picture for your Press card?

Demotix are still very young as an organisation and still comparatively under resourced compared to the big agencies.

Demotix are still very young as an organisation and still comparatively under resourced compared to the big agencies. Most of which won't work with "citizen journalists" and certainly not anonymous ones.

My picture is on my expired press pass.
In my profile there are: address, city and mobile phone.
I've about 50 stories on Demotix.
Former Europe Subeditor (Lorenza) contact me frequently to cover news event in Italy.

Demotix isn't a Flickr community! A news agency must give quick answers!

The point is: I've sent an email and no one, after two weeks, has answered.

So how I can be sure when looking at the press pass that you are Giuseppe Ciccia?
No one knows what Giuseppe Ciccia looks like!

In ALL cases I know of where photo ID is used the person has to turn up in person or have a counter signed picture. With Demotix neither method is possible.

So the picture on your Demotix press pass should match your profile ID image.
IF there is no profile id image them there should be no picture on your Demotix Press pass.

You are correct that Demotix needs to respond faster. I think this will come in time.

I have the same problem!!
I have had my pass request on december 19, I payed it and I send mail with paymnt attecchment, but today I haven't had any reponse.
In my demotix prophile there's a pictur of me and the address is the same of press cad request.

Has anyone successfully renewed their card? I don't mean to be a pest about this, but it shouldn't be this difficult.
I'm having a hell of a time doing it and one of these days, I'm going to get called out for credentials that expired in July 2011.
I sent an email in requesting information on how to do it, and appreciate the response, but have no idea what to make of it:

"To renew your pass please click on the message on your dashboard and re-submit your application"

If I go and look at my "press pass" info, the page offers me the ability to edit or "check out". When I follow the "check out" option, the next page tell me my "cart" is empty. Thus, I'm not able to order a new card.
If anyone has an easy answer, I'd appreciate it if you pass it along. As noted above, this old one is going to let me down at some point (I'm photographing Romney this afternoon, with full secret service detail) and it's going to be a real pain in the butt.

The response times are a problem, as has been said the agency is new but they (who ever they are) need to get a grip on this problem. Response times are very important when dealing with people on the web at present they are Sad Sad Sad. If I responded at such a rate to my customers I would not have any work.

The Camera is a tool that enables us to see the light but it will always be blind without our minds and imagination.
People of mediocre ability sometimes achieve outstanding success because they don't know when to quit.
