Hi all,
just a couple of suggstion for the new uploader:
- to reintroduce the disappeared thumbnail grid. It's critical to have an overview of the story and to quickly reorder the photos. Currently, the changing position dropdown is really unpractical.
- If you use the FTP the photos will be stored and made available in your backend, but they come sorted with the most recent capture time first. It would be ideal to have instead the older first. At least it is the way I like to write a story. This, combined with the above issue, makes reordering of more than 4-6 photos just a pain. I guess a simple button for multiple options of sorting (e.g. oldest, newer, custom, etc.) would be a nice solution.
thanks for listening and keep up the very good work!

I found that attaching all key words and captions in Aperture 3, then uploading makes the whole process much easier.
Thanks to Chris Hills for the suggestion!
Yes Barnie, that's the best practice, to fill out Iptc fields offline with your preferred software and then upload. Demotix, such as other resources, has the ability to extract headlines and captions with no fuss.
However, once your images are uploaded, they still have to be sorted. The old uploader had a thumbnail grid that made sorting easy by drag'n'drop. But that grid seems to have disappeared in the new uploader.

I would prefer if we did the captioning and keywording in the uploader itself, Plus, if we had the uploader to read the keywords/tags that we have put in via our favourite editor. I also would like the network to keep the uploader code rather to constantly log in and change it in order for it to work
Riccardo, you make a good point - the tech team is currently re-adding the drag and drop re-orderer based on feedback on the new upload system.
Richard, we are also planning on building a desktop uploader the supports in app key wording!
