Get a similar problem at the moment. Sitting here and trying to upload two stories. The FTP of the pictures went fine, but when I try to add the text to it, the website abends with different errors at different stages. Sometimes I can't add pictures, sometimes i can add everything and when I press save it abends and sometimes abends somewhere in the middle. Got my first story uploaded after a while, but not such luck with the second. Probably have to wait and try again tomorrow morning. That's not the first time this has happened and it seems to be especially bad at weekends.
Is there a chance that you enhance the uploader program, so that it can not only upload pictures, but the whole story as well.
@Amit and Michael - As with fixing all problems we need screenshots. Screenshots help us see what you are seeing and then we can fix the problems.

What were you doing?
What OS are you using?
What browser are you using?
Have you tried all upload methods afterwards?
Email this to support (at) demotix.com - and then we can fix this.
Thank You
Stephen

i already sent all screen shots and anyway slow site has no screen shots, and the site sometimes react this way and sometimes another it doesn't matter what browser we are using i already said i am forced to use all 3 simply because Chrome cannot be used for uploading, Firefox is too slow and if i succeed to access with MSIE which is not often i can upload given the time.

OK. Tech will disagree with you on the browser issue. It is important and we would be happy if contributors supply us with this information.
As for site speed we are addressing this - we activated the speed for non-contributors on site and it is rapid! Next will be full contributors.
Most people use the FTP method of upload as it's off site.

i did provided all the information several times after all i am complaining for months. i once even tried the application and after uploading i simply couldn't find my pictures and nobody in this world can say i am not computer savvy. stephan i am developing websites myself and i do see whats going on here, sending the ball back to us demanding us for questions and suggesting we do this and that (which never works) is just another way to avoid dealing with the problem itself some elements have to be fixed in the site, thats a fact even less fancy solutions will be great as long as it is simple for the contributors

Amit,
Well you clearly disagree. We have fixed a multitude of problems due to contributor feedback - and never with complaining in forums. It's hot air. As stated:

We also have more than the FTP and online Upload Page to upload your content. We are also happy to announce plugins for Lightroom, Photoshop and Photo Mechanic released this coming week. Not to mention the already used Desktop Uploader and Email uploader. All post-production suites have the ability to embed IPTC data in case you run into problems on site - this has been implemented for around a year.
Again, as a photojournalist I understand your problem. I also upload myself on the site quiet a number per day from low internet/troublesome states, and I understand the issues. It's utterly wrong of you to say we are avoiding these problems of getting this work out. Our tech team are working 24 hours a day.
Thank You,
Stephen

i have a lot of respect for what you did here technically but you mess where it was not needed to mess. you see the upload part should not be so sophisticated we don't need it we need it working. so the upload itself could be really simple script those scripts are past and easy the rest is just a form.

OK, Well it needs to work for all browsers, countries and connection speeds. This is the issue we have. When it works for one group, an IE group may have problems for example.
We need to address all, so taking this pedigree information is helpful. I understand you cannot screenshot speed, unfortunately but we are getting there. We are very close.
With a 3rd new tech guy on the team.
A new site editor/community manager,
5 publishers.
3 new ways to upload,
Small site fixes.
All this within one week of implementation! It's good, but as you say not upload speed.
We are well aware of upload - and we will update you. Tech are working on it.
Thanks again,
Stephen
ok here you are
i Uploaded a story with 7 pictures using MSIE, upload went fine, filling everything went great pressing the save button and... its grinding for 30 minutes already and if i will have to bet it will grind forever, if i will stop the page everything i did gone to the garbage.
