This part of Kenya has been suffering from continual stints of famine, the latest being as a consequence of a two year drought and unpredictable weather patterns. The Samburu, Turkana, and Borana Tribesmen have been clashing in this part of the country for grazing land and water sources. Nearby conflict in Somalia has also added an element of insecurity to the local people as refugees infiltrate in search for a more sustainable lifestyle. August 2nd 2009
