They vote hoping for a better future, but many Kenyans, are on the verge of despair waiting under tattered tents which they call their homes.
They were displaced from their homes after chaos erupted following the disputed presidential election on Dec 2007.
Many had stable lives, good houses and property, but they were reduced to 'Internally displaced people' in their country now for two years.
They ran for their lives, and formed camps away from their homes where they have been living with those who remained after the violence which saw hundreds loose their lives.
The Kenyan government gave an ultimatum to the displaced families to clear from the camps a month ago and move to lands which the government bought.
The process is on going to date.

The drought in Kenya is becoming a catastrophe as rivers dry up especially in the highland region. Areas of Nyeri, Isiolo, Nanyuki in the Central and Eastern provinces of Kenya are suffering from dried up river beds. Kenya. 25/07/2009.

The drought in Kenya is now dictating a catastrophe as rivers dry up especially in the highland region.
Areas of Nyeri, Isiolo, Nanyuki in the Central and Eastern provinces of Kenya are characterized by dry river beds and hundreds of women carrying water containers on their backs in search of water.
For instance, River Sagana which is the main tributary to Tana river, Kenya's longest river, is no longer flowing.
Other streams dried three months ago making the local residents who depend on them, problems.
Pastoralists are the worst hit. Thousands of head of cattle have died due to lack of water and pasture.
In Mt Kenya forest, hundreds of herders have flocked to save their animals.
But the cold mountainous weather has complicated the situation as more animals die of pneumonia due to cold.
A human wildlife conflict is looming as the poor herders invade elephant corridors in the forest.
The herders who are mainly Maasais and Kalenjins from Rumuruti and Doldol areas of Rift Valley are forced to stay near a fire all the time to warm themselves.
Already, over 2000 animals have died in the forest.
