On October 8, 2009, while residents slept at 10:30pm a huge landslide swept away about 30 houses and killed more than a hundred people.  Typhoon Pepeng is said to have triggered the landslide that cause the mountain to give way. La trinidad, Philippines, 15/10/2009.

On October 8, 2009  at 10:30 at night, while residents slept in Little Kibungan in Puguis, La Trinidad, in Benguet province, 250 kilometers north of Manila, a huge landslide swept away 30 houses and killed more than a hundred people. On the day I was there, there were four more bodies that hadnt been found. The Kindipan family was waiting for their last kin to be found so they could bury the dead--Mother Bibiana and her children Mark Denver, Michelle, and Antonette. The father was away at work at that time.
