The Belgian Pride day took place in the center of Brussels. Around 80,000 participated. The Pride Parade is an event to celebrate the LGBT (Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) community and demand equal rights.

The annual Pride Festival took place in Brussels, and featured a week of festivities for gay men and lesbian women, ending with the Pride Day Brussels celebration.

An arson attack on the Rida mosque in Brussels resulted in the death of the resident Imam Abdallah Dadou. It was not known what the motivation for the attack was, nor who the perpetrators might have been.

In the city hall of Brussels, a ceremony for the deceased street dwellers was held. Alain Courtois, who is an alderman, spoke at the ceremony. Names of the 48 deceased street dwellers were read.

A group of climate activists protested in front of the cabinet of Minister-President of Flanders Kris Peeters, in Brussels. Kris Peeters would receive some businessmen from the gas industry, to discuss gas exploration in Limburg, Flanders.

In the center of Brussels, celebrations of the state of Israel took place during the "Festival for Peace". A group of pro Palestinian activists protested against this event, by distributing flyers but the police stopped the activists.

Around 50 activists protested in front of the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to demand that the Belgian government, condemns the recent bombings in Syria by the Israeli army.

The Belgian icon Grand Jojo performed during the Iris Festival to celebrate the Brussels region. The 76 year-old singer from Brussels praised his hometown and said thanks to the Brussels Minister-President Charles Picqué who was recently dismissed.

Thousands celebrated the Brussels region during the Iris Festival (Fête de l'Iris). There were street theatres, concerts, and stands in the center of Brussels during the entire weekend.

100 people protested in front of the embassy of Burma in Brussels against the persecution of the Rohingya people, a muslim minority. The protesters reproach Western media and governments that they don't give enough attention to this matter.

On World Press Freedom Day, Manneken Pis wears a costume of Reporters Without Borders. The bronze statue of this little "urinating" boy is a well known symbol of folklore in Brussels and very popular among tourists.
