Originated by the fire arts enthusiasts last year, the Live Flames festival was held in its second annual incarnation on September 5th, 2009, in the resort town of Zelenogorsk on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. Despite inclement weather, which ruined part of the outdoor entertainment charm and made for a slow start of festivities, both performers and audience showed commendable insistence. The fire shows and competition went on till late, continual downpour notwithstanding.
