Mumbai-based Media Foundation of India has announced its second national press photo contest for full-time professional press photographers and freelancers. Not open to amateur photographers.

General News: Pictures of scheduled events or planned events
Spot News: Pictures shot on the spot without any advance planning
Daily Life: Glimpses of richness and diversity of daily life
Sports: Pictures capturing sporting moments
Arts & Culture: Pictures of the literary and performing arts; festivals etc
Best Photo Stories: Picture sequence of a minimum of 2 and maximum of 12 images narrating a story pictorially. Photo stories shot in any of the five categories could be entered here.
Picture of the Year award: Rs 75,000 and a trophy
First Prize: Rs 50,000 and a trophy
Second Prize: Rs 30,000 and a trophy
Third Prize: Rs 20,000 and trophy
Entries to be sent on a CD to MFI registered address, or sent in an email to MFIcontest2012@gmail.com on or before May 31, 2012

DJ Memorial Photography
DJ Memorial Photography Contest, open till 12 June, 2012. 1st prize: Rs.3 lakhs. 2nd prize: Rs.1.5 lakhs. 3rd prize: Rs.50,000.
All pictures should have been taken in India. There will be no other restriction.
Two sections: "Nature" & "Open." Prints & CD/DVD entries, together with completed entry form.
Even though the copyright will rest with the photographer, DJMPC may use the picture for non-commercial promotional purposes or reproduction in the catalogue/calendar. By participating in this event, it is construed that all participants give their concurrence to the use of their photographs by
DJMPC for non-commercial promotional activities of LMW.

North-East Through My Eyes Photo Contest, 2012, deadline March 20, 2012, open to all, one entry per person, no entry fee, prizes Rs.3,000, Rs.2,000, Rs.500 etc.
"By entering the contest, the entrant agrees to grant Eastern Fare an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide nonexclusive license to reproduce, distribute, display, and create derivative works of the entries (along with the photo information and entrant’s name) only in connection with the contest and promotion of the contest.
