This Mexican orphanage mission is one of the many charities supported by Ambassadors for Humanity and Airline Ambassadors International, in order to improve quality of life in needy children's lives. Ensenda, Mexico. 9/8/2009.

Back to school for many children in the U.S. is almost mundane. Even in times of recession, many families still get caught up in the back to school shopping that retailers count on almost as much as Christmas for a shot in the arm for profits. But, what about children who have no plans for such trips and in fact have no parents? They have organizations such as Ambassadors for Humanity and Airline Ambassadors International.

Ambassadors for Humanity and Airline Ambassadors International continue their humanitarian work with two orphanages in Ensenada, Mexico. It is easy to forget that organizations such as these which have contributed to more than 500,000 children and families in over 55 countries exist because of individuals not organizations.

These programs which have distinctly different approaches to helping fight worldwide hunger and poverty have one thing in common; two women (Nancy Rivard and Peggy Sprague) committed to providing others with food, shelter, clothing and clinics to those who often have less than nothing.

Starting with Fine Art created from unique materials such as Coffee and Lipstick painted by artists around the World, Ambassadors for Humanity creates Fine Art Products, Gifts and Eco-Friendly Spa Products for various fund raising programs. Contributions from the sale of these products go directly to partner alliances' global aid and relief programs.

Airline Ambassadors was inspired by the UN Millennium Development Goals, providing a way for individual travelers to participate and contribute to humanitarian relief and development projects worldwide. Airline Ambassadors International puts compassion into action.

The sum greater than the parts.

On one particular mission trip in August of 2009, Peggy and Nancy enlisted the help of 10 volunteers from the U.S. and Mexico to deliver school supplies to needy and special needs children in two Ensenada, Mexico orphanages.

The caravan of ten met in Ensenada carrying school supplies to be distributed to more than 100 orphans. Stepping literally out of their day jobs, Peggy and Nancy coordinated this small platoon of cohorts to distribute the supplies on a weekend mission.

The photographs with this article depict the deep contrasts of these two facilities supported by these non-profit organizations.
