Fashion is an ever-changing world that has had its history. After the end of the 2nd world war, women wear, or wardrobe included formal dresses with intricate necklines. That time also saw the introduction of stylish hats and different hairstyles. For men, fashion meant bowler hats and suits. However, it was the 50’s, when significant change or transformation in the fashion world took place. It brought in the greaser style, which introduced leather jackets, jeans, and t-shirts. It represented the coming of the new generation.

The 1970s was a time full of music. It is the decade where hip hop emerged, and the hippie movement gained popularity. Fashion at this time was colorful and involved miniskirts, bell-bottom pants, and tie-dyes. This period saw both men and women sporting long hair, and beard and mustache came in vogue again. The 1980s witnessed a new wave of maximalism or maximalist style. At that time the fashion was everything bold, big, excessive, and glamorous. Makeup and hair were also intense. Towards the second half, rebellious air that is punk style came into existence. It featured iconic and classic pieces like ripped jeans, leather jackets, band t-shirts, etc. It was edgy.

In the 1990s, the fashion industry, however, returned to minimalism. It popularized casual chic look, which had men and women sporting t-shirts, sneakers, hoodies, and jeans. This trend was carried forward in the 2000s as well. In the 2000s, denim was a staple piece in both men and woman’s wardrobe. It was all about casual and leisurewear; trends started to take hints from 60s bohemian aspects like crop jackets, low-rise jeans, cargo shorts, fitted shirts, capri pants, peasant tops, etc.

At present, we have hipster or athleisure fashion trends. We have more gender-neutral or unisex clothes. It includes joggers, hoodies, which can be worn by both men and women. If you are looking for some cool printed sweaters, sweatshirts, hoodies, etc., then check out justcoolsweaters.com.

Today, the fashion industry does not follow any hard and fast rules. It is diverse, as people have started accepting themselves, the way they are. People are no longer going by image or norms set by society. Fashion has become very personal to people, which varies from person to person. It has become a way of expressing oneself. It is a part of your identity as well as your personality. The clothes you wear tell something about you or projects out some of your traits.

However, the definition and purpose of fashion are very subjective. For some people, it defines their status in society. For some, it is about being confident in whatever they wear. Being fashionable for some people is to be at par with the latest trends, while for some, it is just a way of expressing themselves. The clothes you are most comfortable in and confident about is your actual fashion or style.
