Over one hundred protesters gathered at Portland Place to march to Downing Street speaking out against China’s actions in Tibet. This annual freedom march organised by a coalition of many UK Tibet groups marks the 51st Anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising. London, United Kingdom, 06/03/2010.

It has been two years since the anti-China demonstrations in Tibet during the spring of 2008. Over 200 Tibetans died, with thousands detained by the Chinese, given draconian sentences. Lobsang Gyaltsen and Mr Loyak received death sentences and as a result were executed the following October.

Tibetans are becoming a minority in their own country as a result of thousands of migrants, and any attempt to peacefully protest against the Chinese government is countered by arrests, torture and death. A letter was handed in at downing street addressed to the Prime Minister in order to raise awareness of this ongoing issue demanding changes.
