The ANA soldiers and U.S Marines from India Company, 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, patrolled through a residential section of the city to conduct counterinsurgency operations as part of Operation Moshtarak, a push to rid Marjah of Taliban presence and intimidation. The town of Marjah in Afghanistan is home to fertile opium crops and has been a recognised Taliban stronghold for several years. U.S. marines launched Operation Moshtarek on 13/02/2010 to destabilize the Taliban presence. Marjah, Afghanistan. 22/02/2010.
