This is actually a
This is actually a photojournalism story, as there are a wide variety of ways to capture an image for publication in this day, and age. Now days you don't need only a camera to capture a picture that tells the whole story, as this captured image does.
Thank you for bringing to light what many might have just glossed over without realizing what it meant from such a giant as Google Search.
Many times it is the obvious things people simply pass over that they really need to be made aware of.
Did you take the picture
Did you take the picture above? A yes or no answer will do.
@Chris _ Exactly! Nuff
@Chris _ Exactly! Nuff said.
If there really is a problem, I rely on team Demotix to kill my contributions, correct the error of my ways, banish me beyond the pale if need be.
However, please be my guest here and have the last word :)
how did you take the photo if
how did you take the photo if not from your screen then?
@Chris _ guilty as
@Chris _ guilty as charged!
Full disclosure: I could have taken a "photo" of my screen. I didn't, because I couldn't, because I'm in India, not in the USA, and even though I can search the Google USA page as if I'm in the USA, via an intermediary site, I couldn't, in the middle of the urgency that I felt, devote too much time to hack/crack the issue; in other words, fool Google into thinking that I'm in the USA, not India, where I get only the Google India search page. And I'm trying to stay afloat with an internet connect that is running at single-digit kbps!
I didn't post this as a forum thread because (a) I think this is the biggest story happening at this moment right now, (b) it's legitimate news, and (c) no other Demotix contributor uploaded it, as yet. I wish somebody with more capability and creativity than me would report this burning issue. Even after this 24-hour protest, the ground realities will remain more or less as is, and we'll have to find telling means to communicate this.
And yes, this "news" also belongs correctly in a forum thread. Personally, I try to steer clear of "should." And I want everyone to wake up to the clear and present danger, not just the Demotix community, who, you will agree, are a better-informed bunch than most.
@Matthew _ Agreed! I feel every heart and mind counts. If we don't stop this, it's goodbye Demotix, farewell freedom, hello 2084 :(
I agree but it is not a photo
I agree but it is not a photo journalism story... this should be in the forum not here. We should be discussing it at length there.
Actually it is a photo-journalisum story if any one has any relevant images. A screen shot that MILLIONS of other people also have is not it.
Chris - in a way this is
Chris - in a way this is perhaps one of the biggest stories so far this year, and the consequences of the SOPA and PIPA bills being passed have enormous ramifications on all of us who value freedom of speech and information surely?
This is not s photo news
This is not s photo news story. Your "photo" is one EVERY computer user has. This should be a forum thread not a story.
