Artist Kaya Mar lampoons Putin & Medvedev at London protest - London

Political painter and caricaturist Kaya Mar unveiled his latest painting on 04.02.2012 when he joined a protest by Russian ex-patriates outside Downing Street who are seeking fair elections back home in Russia. The protest was just one of many held simultaneously around the world amongst Russian ex-pat communities last week as they appeal for an end to the corrupt practces used back home to keep ex-KGB former president Putin - who is poised to step back into the presidency, his seat having been kept warm for him by the compliant Medvedev - in power, for the benefit of the oligarchs who have monopolised Russia's vast resources for their own wealth and power.

Portraying Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and President Dmitri Medvedev naked, riding a see-saw across the back of a Russian bear which is blindfolded and muzzled with a chain, the painting mocks the never-changing grip of Vladimir Putin on Russian politics.
