Many women work 14 hours in the rice mills on a daily basis, receiving a single lunch break and being payed 80-100 taka per day, equivalent to just over USD$1 to USD$1.20. The conditions are dusty and can lead to health issues.
There are many children and women who works in the rice mills from 8 a.m. in the morning till 10 p.m. in the evening on a daily basis for 80-100 taka ($1 to $1.20 dollar) per day. They have no other interval apart from lunch break. The dusty and unhealthy environment causes many types of lung diseases. Chittagong, Bangladesh.
