8th March's main event was composed of speeches from some eminent female figures of Pakistan from various backgrounds and fields. They all had the message of women empowerment at the core. There were musical performances and plays presented by the students of the participating Universities. Chief Minister of Punjab in his closing speech announced a package for the women which he vowed to take from paper to practice.
