Over 500 people gathered in Barcelona for a demonstration against the Centers of Internment for Foreigners (CIE), a temporary prison for illegal immigrants before deportation.

In January 2012 , a 21 year-old boy from Guinea died because respiratory problems. Other prisoners asked for help at the police. As far, the prisoners and the police have difference versions of the history and cause of the death.

There are hundred of formal complaints against these centers. Several ONG's and the immigrants interned criticize the status of CIE against human rights.

At this moment, nobody except the police and recently the Red Cross, can go inside the CIE, nor journalists or other NGO's.
