Nagaon Health campaign 2012

Nagaon Health Mela 2012 observed, 5000 patients got benefited
7th April 2012, Nagaon : District Health Society (DHS), Nagaon under the banner of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) conducted Health Mela 2012 in 3 different places of Nagaon namely Amlipukhuri L.P School under Jugijan BPHC on 29/03/2012, Bharaguri 923 L.P School (Padumoni) under Samuguri BPHC on 31/03/2012 & 3. Kandulimari (riverine area) under Dhing BPHC on 06/04/2012. The primary focus of conducting health mela was to create health awareness and promote healthy behaviour in difficult to reach & far flung areas of the district. In the health meal both preventive & curative health services were rendered. All the schemes under NRHM were exhibited. Counselling centre cum IEC (information education & communication) stalls on Family Planning services, Encouraging Institutional Delivery promoting JSSK, Anaemia & IFA Consumption, Early & Exclusive Breastfeeding, Complementary Feeding, Malaria & JE were arranged.
In the curative site a team of total 17 nos consisting of specialist, Obstetrician/ Gynaecology, Paediatrician, Eye , ENT, Dental surgeon and General Medicine practitioner were deployed. Arrangement for instant X-Ray, Ultra Sound and Blood for Hb/Urine examination facilities were placed with the support of MMU (mobile medical unit).
Almost 5000 patients were examined and rendered medical services during the 3 health mela.
