Twenty chefs are selected by a jury consisting of 10 seniors and 10 chefs compete in the semifinal Junior Chef of The Year 2012 third round at Ciputra University.
20 chefs selection of a jury consisting of 10 senior and 10 chef chef competes in the semifinal junior Chef of The Year 2012 third round at Ciputra University.Participants came from various institutions in Eastern Indonesia. They are required to make a new recipe that has never been shown before.
The jury is composed of experienced professional chefs such as Chef Stefu Santoso (representative of the Association of Culinary Professionals ACP), Chef Widhi Joestiarto (Executive Chef Unilever Food Solutions), Chef Fahriansyah (Indonesian Chef Association), and Chef Hari Minantyo (Ciputra University) willselect four finalists (two senior and two chef chef junior) to compete in the grandfinal Chef of the Year 2012 in Jakarta, 23 April 2012.
At this semi-final stage of each participant must make a new recipe that is different from earlier and bring their own materials needed for the recipe. Race time of 60 minutes, starting from the preparation, cooking, and serve their food creations.
In the initial selection, participants were required to send the main dish recipe that uses at least two products of Unilever Food Solutions. Chef of The Year 2012 is a prestigious culinary competition held at the national level by Unilever Food Solutions collaborated with several schools and school of tourism, Indonesia Chef Association. The competition runs from March until April 2012 is open to professional and amateur chefs from restaurants, hotels, and students.
Senior chef categories based on their work experience as a chef for more than 5 years, while the junior category for those who experienced less than 5 years and maximum 25-year-old.
