French Ambassador to Indonesia, Bertrand de Hartingh inaugurated the use of the Institut Francais de Indonesie new name and new location in AJBS complexes, Ratna 14 street, 2nd floor block C2, Surabaya, Indonesia.
Actually, this name change has been started since January 1, 2012 ago, but yesterday made a new opening. As an arm of the French Consulate in Jakarta, French Consular Agent at Surabaya and its surrounding community helps to provide official information and submitting it to the French embassy in Jakarta various applications related to consular services.

The new identity was introduced to the public on the 'Open House' (04/15/2012), which will be filled by a variety of fun akitivitas, among others: demo teaching of French, a quiz with prizes, games, film screenings, announcements and awards for contest winners poetry 'Printemps des Potes' held in March.
The inauguration of the new name as well as the new location will be held in Surabaya IFI outdoor area, exactly at the stage in the front yard in Surabaya IFI AJBS complex. The event will be attended by high officials of the Embassy of France, of which Mr. Bertrand de Hartingh (read: Bertrang de Harting) who served as counselor and Cultural Cooperation (conseiller de Cooperation et d'Action culturelle) which is also Director of the Institut Français Indonesia (French-led network of cultural centers in Indonesia) and the Director of IFI Surabaya, Christian Gaujac (French honorary consul in Surabaya). Also invited the heads of government of East Java province and Surabaya municipality, to co-inaugurate the IFI Surabaya, as well as the honorary consul several friendly countries.
The concert was held to enliven the event 'Opening' IFI Surabaya is also a symbol of art and culture start of IFI activities, by inviting the French band, Les Yeux Noirs (read: lésyeunoar), who stopped in Indonesia in the series of their tour to southeast Asia. In addition to the city of Surabaya, they will perform in Jogjakarta (17/4) and Jakarta (18/4).
