Hundreds of people pick through a mountain of trash each day in South America's biggest landfill at Jardim Gramacho. The open air dump will close in May 2012, just a few days before the UN Rio+20 conference on enviroment and sustainability.
The garbage dump Jardim Gramacho is the biggest of South America and it's going to close the next month dropping 1.200 people without work.
This dump is an enviromental hazard for Guanabara bay or Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
