Foot-and-mouth disease arrives in the Gaza Strip

The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), that a new strain of foot-and-mouth disease arrived in the Gaza Strip, it is possible to move to more areas after being tracked for the first time in Egypt and Libya last February.The Organization had been the discovery of diseased animals on 19 April last at the Rafah border with Egypt, said that the vaccine against the strain (SAT 2) of the virus is still not available and that the priority at the moment is to limit the movements of animals.
