Almost a year after the earthquakes which struck Lorca on May 11th, 2011, killing nine people and leaving several thousand homeless, affected residents are still suffering as they try to rebuild their lives.

Much promised financial aid from a variety of politicians, celebrities and government organisations has been slow . Several families are still living in temporary mobile homes around the city and to date, many residents who were affected have yet to receive any insurance settlement, many who have received insurance compensation, now find themselves in an even more difficult situation. Most of them are still paying mortgage for a collapsed house
