وأشار الى ان الصليب الاحمر ليس طرفا في المفاوضات الجارية بين ممثليهم ومصلحة السجون الاسرائيلية في إضراب نحو 1500 معتقلا مضى على اضرابهم في مختلف السجون أكثر من عشرين يوما ، منوها ان بعثتة تؤيد وتدفع باستمرار نحو تحسين ظروف الاعتقال ةترتيب الزيارات للاهل محذرا من تفاقم الوضع وتدهور الاحوال الصحية للمعتقلين حال واصلوا اضرابهم .
وأكد ان بعثة الصليب الاحمر تعمل كل ما بوسعها لتوفير الاحتياجات الاساسية لاهالي الاسرى المضربين تضامنا مع ابنائهم في خيمة الاعتصام التي اقيمت منذ اسبوع في مقر الصليب الاحمر بمدينة القدس وتتواصل معهم عبر لجنة جرى اختيارها من بينهم موضحا ان البعثة لا تتمتع بحق الحصانة الدبلوماسية ، الا انة وبالرغم من ذلك فإن بعثتة لا تتدخر جهدا في توفير اقصى درجات الحماية التي تستطيع تقديمها .
