Rujak Uleg Festival - Surabaya

The festival Rujak Uleg begins with dangdut song accompaniment, Surabaya Mayor Tri Rismaharini appeared on stage with Indah Kurnia, Member of Parliament and Kristen F. Bauer U.S. Consul General to Surabaya. Opening the festival is marked by pestle with all municipal officials and invited guests including foreign students in Surabaya.

1340 Rujak Uleg Festival participants are divided into 243 tables. This number increased compared to last year only 1250 participants. Risma recognized, an increase of participants proves the high enthusiasm of people to the Festival Rujak Uleg.
She said the festival which started in 2007 is certain to be held every year in order Anniversary Day of Surabaya. Because, Rujak Uleg is a typical asset Surabaya.

Surabaya City Government will register Rujak Uleg as a World Heritage. The plan this summer, Mayor of Surabaya will submit it to UNESCO.

Tri Rismaharini Surabaya Mayor acknowledged that the desire to go into the Rujak Uleg to World Heritage has occurred since last year. It's just not that easy. Because there must be strong evidence that the Rujak Uleg is a legacy of Surabaya wealth.
