The Calder Cup and Norfolk Admirals' mascot make guest appearances
Just one day before the American Hockey League Championship Play-offs, Salty, the Admirals' mascot, is making guest appearances with the Calder Cup.
Just one Day before the American Hockey League Championship Play offs, Salty the Admirals Mascot is making guest appearances throughout the neighboring Cities with the Calder Cup. Salty has Guest Appeared with the Calder Cup at Radio and TV Stations in the local area. Salty has even guest appeared at Military Bases, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard, and was well received.
Every year during the Calder Cup Finals the American Hockey League takes the Calder Cup to the Host Teams City. The whole purpose of this event is to generate excitement within the Fan base and draw in newcomers to the thrill of Norfolk Admirals Hockey. On Friday June 1, The Calder Cup Championship will start with game one, the Eastern Conference champion Norfolk Admirals vs. Western Conference champion Toronto Marlies at the Norfolk Scope Arena.
The Calder Cup is named for Frank Calder, who served as the National Hockey League’s first President from 1917 to 1943. During the 1920’s, Mr. Calder was instrumental in guiding hockey into the mainstream of America’s major cities including Boston, New York, Detroit and Chicago, while helping in the formation of the American League.
