Shootout near the border separating Gaza strip and southern Israel
Abu Nasr and an Israeli soldier were killed in a shootout near the border with the Gaza Strip, the Israeli military said. The exchange of fire began after the militant crossed the fence separating Gaza strip and southern Israel.
A Palestinian gunman broke into Israel on Friday and killed a soldier before being shot dead himself in a rare cross-border attack that Israel blamed on the Islamist group Hamas. Israel hit back, with the missile-strike wounding three people in the southern Gaza Strip. Militants also fired rockets out of the Palestinian enclave, but they did not cause any damage, the Israeli army said.
