Memphis, Tennessee, August 23- A small congregation of Vietnamese Buddhists held a ground breaking ceremony of a new temple at the location of the Bho Da Temple in this city of mostly Baptists and Methodists. According to Temple officials, there are about 500 Buddhists in the Memphis area, many refugees who were held as Prisoners of War by the communist government. In the photo Huyen Truong and Chin Van Duong, both of Memphis, light incense. A spokesperson for the temple, which has been operational for 7 years, acknowledged Memphis for its religious diversity.
