South Staffordshire College students with Belgrave High School Dance Company put on the All Stitched Up Fashion show at Torc Campus Vocational Centre as part of their courses and in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support. The event was well supported.
The All Stitched Up Fashion event showcased work by fashion and textile students aged 15-20 from Torc Vocational Centre and South Staffordshire College. Between the three catwalk shows the entertainment was provided by Belgrave High School Dance Company with some energetic modern dance.
The high standard of the designs the models were wearing, the way the models showed them off and the skill of the Dance Company belied their ages and produced a high quality event. It certainly did not appear that this was their first event of this type. They should all have a bright future ahead of them.
The Year 11 Torc Students brief was inspired by the Spring/Summer 2012 catwalk and high street fashions All of the outfits were certainly wearable and would not look out of place in high street stores.
The first section saw various T-Shirt Designs, with students from Year 10 at Torc , Belgrave, Rawlett and Wilnecote schools.
Section 2 was a mix of year 11 students from Rawletts, Belgrave and South Staffs College . Their brief was inspired by the Autumn/Winter 2011 catwalk and high-street collections.
Section two also contained South Staffs College Year 2 students whose work was inspired by 1950’s styles.
The event, apart from showcasing the students work, was to raise money for MacMilllan Cancer Support.
