The Church of the Nativity, and the path of pilgrims in Bethlehem, has been placed on the World Heritage list by majority vote via emergency measures. The decision has stirred up criticism by some, saying the emergency recognition is not necessary.
Adopted the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO at its meeting in St. Petersburg, Russia, the majority, on Friday, the inclusion of the birthplace of Jesus Christ: Church of Nativity and the path of pilgrims in Bethlehem on the list of 'UNESCO' World Heritage in Danger. And approval of the request by a majority of Palestinians were members of the Committee by secret ballot, where 13 countries voted in favor of the request, and opposed by six countries, while two abstained from voting.
