A friendly demonstration by local residents, cyclists and walkers against the closure of the towpath and access routes alongside the River Lea and The Olympic Park from Homerton to Bow. The footpath was closed last week.

An action group has been started under the banner of "OpenourTowpath" by local residents and other users to reopen the Towpath running outside of the Olympic Park. The can has also been closed to all boats for the duration of the Olympics and Para-Olympics. The demonstration was very friendly with families, young children and members of the local community gathering at the closure barrier.
