Class War marched in Cambridge on the last day of the Cambridge 'Bumps' against elitism of Cambridge University, which saw Mr. Asbo, the swan, removed from his natural habitat on the River Cam.
The protest against elitism and the Oxbridge dominance of establishment institutions from politics and government through to the media was triggered by the removal of Mr ASBO, with his wings clipped.
The Cambridge ‘Bumps’ is a race characterised by frequent collisions, which can cause considerable disturbance to the birdlife along the river. Mr ASBO was transported away from Cambridge after it was decided that his acts of defending his nest were too aggressive.
