Abandoned, derelict construction sites in Tenerife. The collapse in property development has left hundreds of construction sites unfinished and decaying in the tourist areas of Tenerife as major blots on the otherwise idyllic landscape.

These photographs are an attempt at documenting the disastrous, ugly, and potentially dangerous detritus of a collapsed construction industry.
Where there were once thousands of eager purchasers queuing up to buy their dream holiday home in the south of Tenerife, fueling a boom in building luxury apartments and villas, there is now a plethora of crumbling half finished concrete and steel structures and boarded up unsold holiday homes.
The photographs show what has happened to an industry when overnight all work stopped and little or nothing has been done to maintain the integrity of the incomplete works.
