The world famous Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo opens on Edinburgh Castle Esplanade, featuring performers from around the world.
Massed pipe bands and a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee theme are highlights of this year’s royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, which has opened in Scotland’s capital.
Some 220,000 spectators from the UK and overseas are expected to attend this annual feature of the Edinburgh festival season.
Bands and performers from Australia, South Africa, USA, Canada, and Norway, are amongst those taking part.
