Remembering 9/11/2001
Remembering 9/11/2001
In Indianapolis and across the United States, patriotic citizens and groups took time to remember and reflect upon the events of 9/11/2001. Flags were flown at half mast, moments of silence were observed, and people gathered to share their thoughts.
In Indianapolis at the Indiana War Memorial, the American Legion and Red Cross hosted the 1st Annual Legacy Walk and memorial service to honor service members and veterans who have dedicated their lives to our country. Pre-walk speakers included Indianapolis Deputy Mayor Olgen Williams representing Mayor Greg Ballard and American Legion dignitaries whom shared their thoughts and led prayers. The service ended with the group walking downtown to Monument Circle.
