Sister Margaret Walsh of St Chads Sanctuary (Birmingham) brought her flock to Tamworth to see the town, to meet Mayor Tina Clements and join her for lunch in the Town Hall. They visited Tamworth because of the support the Sanctuary gets from St John’s RC Church in Tamworth.
St Chads Sanctuary provides support and relief to Asylum Seekers and Refugees in the form of clothing, food, and personal hygiene products. They also teach English.
Some of the refugees have family still in the countries they came from and others have family spread across the world. They are trying to reunite. There world is a dangerous place and full of conflict.
St Chads Sanctuary, is primarily supported by St Chads RC Cathedral in Birmingham and the Salvation Army, has been running 2 years.
