An Ecumenical Christian Service hosted at St. Ulrich and Afra Cathedral in the center of Augsburg to commemorate the Augsburg Peace Festival. The sermon this year was given by Reverend Dr. Margot Kaessmann.
The Augsburg Peace Festival has been celebrated every August 8th since 1650, when Protestants gained to right to worship in the city peacefully with Catholics. Back then the Festival and Holiday was celebrated with a Protestant church service, this tradition has evolved into an Ecumenical Christian Service hosted at St. Ulrich and Afra Cathedral in the center of Augsburg. The sermon this year was given by Reverend Dr. Margot Kaessmann.
